The way others perceive us vs. self-perception
In photos, people tagged in pictures would usually just untag themself or ask to have the photo deleted, saying they look “bad”. Usually, to anyone else it is a perfectly normal picture. This is true for me too. I’ve given this a lot of thought over the past few months and it is time to write some of these thoughts down.
Spontaneous photos are those taken w.o the people knowing, in action. These are always unfavorable. Example: photo of u laughing. It’s, again, spontaneous, unrehearsed and natural. It looks bad to you because you don’t see yourself laughing often…unless you’re in front of a mirror. This happens to me all the time so I’m trying to accept it and not untag myself. To anyone else, it looks fine. They see u “in action”, moving about and it is nothing out of the ordinary, so most likely they won’t find the need to point it out.
“Wtf I look so bad here!”
“no you don’t…u look fine” < hate to admit it, but that’s what you look like.
So my point is, we perceive ourselves different from how others perceive us.
I hope I make sense. Its almost 1 am lololol. I started this draft this morning at work. This is just a bunch of thoughts scribbled down. I may further elaborate or delve deeper into this at a later date. Dammit tumblr why do u cut shit off when I post from my phone?
